Arkansas Alpha Chapter

"Sigma Phi Epsilon acquired its charter in the spring of 1901 at Richmond College in Richmond, Virginia. Formed by a group of twelve young men who sought education fellowship beyond the walls of formal education, this fraternity has long embraced the principles of academics, love and friendship. From the vision of one man in the early 20th century in which the virtue of peace through brotherhood was established, Sigma Phi Epsilon has grown to pioneer leadership in the forum of the American College Fraternity. Based on the principles of virtue, diligence and brotherly love, Sigma Phi Epsilon has persevered to become the largest fraternity in the United States, continuing to excel beyond the present chapter count of over 250. There are currently 14,000 undergraduate members, which over the last five years have maintained a retention rate of over 90%, additionally SigEp has lifetime members that tally over 225,000. Also, we are the first and only to have a National GPA of over a 3.0.

We challenge our members not only to enhance their social life, but to also show responsibility and maturity. Social awareness and interactive ability are important in the real world, and Sigma Phi Epsilon takes pride in its ability to offer an education in this area. We also invite speakers throughout the school year to offer advice and information on social graces, alcohol awareness, and risk management. We participate in brotherhood events such as paintball, trips to Fastlane, and Etiquette Dinners and Dancing Lessons with sororities. Our success with brotherhood development has propelled us to be the up and coming leaders on campus.
