Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Alpha Upsilon Chapter
Since its founding on July 9, 1894, the Alpha-Upsilon Chapter at the University of Arkansas has initiated over 2,500 men. As one of the oldest and largest fraternities on campus, the men of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity remain deeply rooted in traditions of Southern hospitality and behavior accordant with the principles of our creed: The True Gentleman. In its 116 years, SAE has established itself as the forerunner of campus leadership, philanthropy, and social programming. Men of our chapter have held positions in Associated Student Government, Ducks Unlimited, the Interfraternity Council, and countless University Committees. Our service to the surrounding community and state includes numerous unprecedented philanthropic events. Finally, our social calendar remains absolutely unparalleled. In its past, the Alpha-Upsilon chapter has produced many influential and successful men, including three Governors, two Senators, two members of the University's Board of Trustees, and six business executives. In the present, SAE exists as one of the finest fraternities on The Hill. In the future, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity will continue, without question, to be at the pinnacle of Greek society. We invite you to join us and continue the tradition of excellence that has lasted for over a century.
