Pi Kappa Alpha

Alpha Zeta Chapter

Founded in 1904, the Alpha Zeta Chapter at the University of Arkansas has long been in the forefront as one of the finest and largest fraternities on campus. Pi Kappa Alpha members strive to be scholars, leaders, athletes and gentlemen. The Pike experience at the Alpha Zeta chapter is unmatched. Each fall, we put on Burn Bowl, a sorority-wide flag-football tournament in which we raise approximately $3,000 for our philanthropy, the Arkansas Children's Hospital Burn Unit. Our other philanthropy events include the Angel Tree program in which we provide Christmas gifts for underprivileged children and any of our numerous Habitat for Humanity projects. We are heavily involved on campus with members holding leadership positions in a variety of registered student organizations. And most importantly, our academics are pushed to the forefront with dozens of Pikes holding honors college fellowships, chancellor's scholarships and other honors college scholarships, and others who have studied abroad as far away as Australia.

The social calendar is an active one, beginning with our rush activities during the summer, to our tradition-laced Riverboat Homecoming celebration, to Buffett Bash, to our widely popular Row Week party at the end of the school year. Pi Kappa Alpha's alumni base extends across the country and the professional world, including Bobby Bowden (Florida State football coach), Jeff Taylor (Monster.com founder and CEO), Lance Alworth (NFL Hall-of-Famer), Tim McGraw (country music artist), Donald T. Regan (White House Chief-of-Staff during the Reagan administration), Jon Stewart (host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show") and Scott Van Pelt (ESPN anchor).
