The brothers of the Alpha-Sigma Colony of Sigma Pi Fraternity International would like to welcome you to the University of Arkansas and congratulate you on choosing to go Greek. Sigma Pi Fraternity was founded in 1897 and stands as one of the strongest and most respected organizations in the Greek letter world with over 135 chapters & colonies; standing as a top ten organization in size, leading college campuses all across North America. Sigma Pi was founded on scholarship, leadership, and service. The Alpha-Sigma Colony of Sigma Pi Fraternity has a strong commitment to academics and is comprised of men with more than 20 different areas of study.
Our members are deeply involved in the campus by taking part in clubs and organizations offered at the U of A. We pride ourselves on our two philanthropies; the Sam Spady Project and the Altruistic Campus Experience (ACE). The Sam Spady Project is an organization that promotes alcohol awareness and safe consumption. In the Spring of 2009, over 1000 cups detailing ways in which to recognize early signs of alcohol poisoning were distributed along with 4000 safety cards. Sigma Pi is also the only social Greek-letter organization in North America with a service project designed to give back to our host institutions through our ACE Project (Altruistic Campus Experience). The ACE Project is the only philanthropy on campus that actively gives back to the campus by hosting events and service work to make the University of Arkansas an even greater campus. The men of Alpha-Sigma are also active in the local community and have adopted a mile long stretch of interstate under the Arkansas Adopt-A-Highway program. We host several social events throughout the year including 80’s Rave, Highlander, Sig-Loo, and the Orchid Ball. Alpha Sigma is looking for men that wish to lead and be actively involved in both fraternity life and the University of Arkansas that wish to meet people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
